It was a busy
but fun and rewarding 72 hours for Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
On Saturday, Ha Ha graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in
Criminal Justice. When Ha Ha declared for the 2014 NFL Draft, Ha Ha made a
commitment to himself and Nick Saban, head football coach at the University of
Alabama, that he would go back to the University of Alabama to complete his
college degree and on Saturday, Ha Ha fulfilled that commitment by receiving
his college degree.
A little more
than 48 hours after graduating, Ha Ha and his HERO Foundation hosted the
first-ever “Flights & Bites with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix” event at Titletown
Brewing Company in Green Bay and raised nearly $73,500 to support community
outreach programs of Ha Ha’s HERO Foundation. Ha Ha and his twenty of his teammates,
including Randall Cobb and Mike Daniels, stepped off the field for a fun
evening of mixing and mingling with more than 140 guests including Green Bay
Packers fans and Green Bay’s charitable community. In addition to meeting
Clinton-Dix, guests enjoyed appetizers, small plates, beer flights, cornhole
with their favorite Packers and the opportunity to participate in exciting live
and silent auctions.
Ha Ha is an
extraordinary role model to the youth and students in the Green Bay community
as he made completing his education and serving his community top priorities
while also being an elite football player. He is a living witness to the
importance of education to the youth his serves in the community. To
commemorate Ha Ha's graduation, Nick Saban, head football coach at the
University of Alabama, had a special surprise for Ha Ha. Coach Saban recorded a
congratulatory video that was presented to Ha Ha during the event and the video
commended Ha Ha on his graduation and community efforts through his foundation.
Funds raised at
“Flights & Bites with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix” will go towards unveiling
additional HERO Headquarters, a community outreach program of Ha Ha’s HERO
Foundation. Ha Ha’s HERO Headquarters are placed in Title I schools and
community centers to provide economically-challenged elementary with books and
educational resources. Designed with a Green Bay Packers theme and images of Ha
Ha playing football placed on the walls, Ha Ha’s HERO Headquarters includes 600
age appropriate books and a comfortable space to read filled with fun beanbags,
carpets and chairs all in the hope to inspire kids to grow in their learning,
education and reading. The first HERO Headquarters was unveiled in January 2018
at Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Milwaukee.
